55 DAYS IN

Oh, didn’t see you there! You’re back! Hi there.
I just got a text. “Remember when you made a blog?”
Oh yeah. Maybe I could write another journal.

Things are going well in Austin. Work is fun and fills up my days - in a ‘my plate is full’, but also a ‘I’m really loving it’ kind of way. All smiles. I keep telling everyone I’m just happy to be here, and that’s true! This has been my working-gal dream since January, and I did it. It’s challenging in a good way and so so fulfilling! Woo!

I did my first ClassPass class a few weeks ago and got this lil graphic. Cute!

Right now, my days consist of making a smoothie, work, impulse buying Outdoor Voices, ordering Chipotle for lunch, maybe utilizing my corporate ClassPass plan (holla), and then going home to have some PRIME Netflix/cooking/recharge time. So, not too exciting - but I did do some fun things since I last wrote.

I’m still doing my three-times-a-week yoga thing, and it’s been such a great way to de-stress throughout the work week. In addition to that, I’m kind of obsessed with bounce class. You heard me. Bounce class utilizes mini trampolines - you jump, do some abs, jump, do a bit of barre… it’s crazy fun. If you’re in Austin, I fully recommend DEFINE body & mind off of South Lamar. I actually can’t believe I can wake up at 5 am to hit their 6 am classes!

Secondly, I’m suddenly best friends with the squirrel who lives outside the place I work. My mom named him Henry. Apparently the people who owned the space before were super obsessed with the squirrels - they have a jar of peanuts that we still use today!
You can find Henry laying flat on his belly on the concrete outside. He literally taps on the glass windows to let me know he’s ready for peanuts. It’s kinda my favorite things. Last week I found all these little goodies on the ground outside - I’m choosing to think it’s a thank-you gift, and I am Snow White.

Any time, Henz!

Last fun update, I had my aura photographed by MOOD by Moss - check out her Insta. I’ve done this before in Oklahoma City, just a few days before I graduated college. I was surprised to see the two pictures were pretty similar, except this one has more green in it. Apparently, green is the color of growth. I’m definitely doing a lot of that here in the past 55 days. I know, I know - woo-woo. This stuff is so interesting to me!

(Literally after I typed this I met a person who’s literal career is debunking pseudoscience. We talked about this. It’s fine, I’m fine. I needed it.)

Ok, that’s about it. As of September 6, I’m trucking along! One thought I’ve had this week: how can I push myself creatively? Answer? I have no idea! I don’t think I’ve ever done that! If I figure it out, I’ll be sure to tell you.

Once things start calming down I think I want to start going to local events and journaling about them. In the meantime, here’s a little way for me to remember all the cool things I’m doing as a clueless 22 year old.

Byeeeeeee,
Jewel
